The WBT-TV Production Team
Farrukh Shah Khan is the Executive Producer and Host of WBT-TV, the number one show coming out of the Silicon Valley. World Business & Technology television show airing every Friday 5:00PM on Comcast Cable Ch-15.
He has a long and diverse career, going back 17 years, in the Silicon Valley Technology Industry. He has worked with Cisco systems, Silicon Graphics, Applied Materials, Borland and many other start-up companies.
He is the founder of IZZAAN, Inc. a top quality media and technology consultancy company dedicated to attracting, building and retaining top quality consultants from all around the world.
He is also the Chair and Director of Media Productions for South Bay Islamic Association Media Committee AND founding President of Pakistani Culture Center of California (www.PCC-CA.org).
He is an active member of many professional and business organizations including Silicon Valley Innovation Institute (SVII), South Bay Islamic Association (SBIA), Muslim-American Project Voters (MAP-V), Northern California Islamic Council (NCIC), Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs of North American (OPEN).
Sabahat Asharf, commonly known as iFaqeer, produces the "Technology, Society and You" commentary segment of WBT-TV. A writer, blogger and journalist who currently makes his living as a technical writer based in Silicon Valley.
As a journalist, iFaqeer has been the editor of "The Teenager, Pakistan"; a Columnist for "Mag" (an English weekly in Pakistan); and have edited various newsletters, in Pakistan and in the US. Amongst recent publishing credits are "Spider," Pakistan's Internet magazine (http://www.spider.tm), and a cover story for the Siliconeer (http://www.siliconeer.com).
iFaqeer blogs extensively at http://iFaqeer.blogspot.com and http://WadiWallah.blogspot.com. He also edits and manages http://Rickshaw.blogspot.com and contributes to http://Urdu-ke-Naam.blogspot.com, a blog focused on the Urdu language, Sufi poetry, mysticism and the culture around that mix, as well as http://PakistanFutures.blogspot.com, which is devoted to Pakistan.
iFaqeer's professional life included technical writing and journalism in both the US and Pakistan. Technical writing assignments have included a Pakistani electronics manufacturer, an offshore software house; Cisco, Mentor Graphics and Cadence in the US.
iFaqeer is also a co-founder of the Human Rights Project at ProgressiveIslam.org (http://humanrights.progressiveislam.org), the Genealogy Wiki (http://genealogy.wikicities.com) and WikiPakistan (http://Pakistan.WikiCities.com).
Azleena Azhar is Director of Productions at WBT-TV. She is also in-charge of the News Department here at WBT-TV. Before WBT-TV, she worked with North Carolina Community Television as Production Assitant. She is also the volunteer community coordinator for SBIA Media Committee. Among her jounalism work, she has worked with Star Newspaper as feature writer and Assistant Editor for Karnegie Magazine publication in Pittsburgh, PA. As technology consultant, she has successfully served marquee companies, including Glaxo, Citibank, KPMG, AT&T, Pac Bell and others.
Azleena has B.S. in Information and Decision Systems from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA.
